Interesting facts about the fly agaric:

Amanita Muscaria mushrooms have been used in shamanic rituals and ceremonies in some parts of Siberia for thousands of years. The oldest and best known documentation of Siberian mushroom use dates to 1658, when a Polish prisoner of war wrote, "They eat certain mushrooms in the form of toadstools, and though they seem drunker than by vodka, it is like a banquet to them. "Controversial theories about other possible historical uses of psychoactive amanitas have also been advanced. Most famously, R. Gordon Wasson argued in his book Soma that the Amanita muscaria was an entheogenic sacrament described by early Hindus in the Rig Veda.

The potency and effects of Amanitas vary greatly between individuals and different mushroom samples. Severe nausea and/or vomiting are common, especially in the first few hours. Some users report euphoria and a convivial feeling of intoxication, with some similarities to alcohol intoxication. Users experience mild visual distortion, loss of balance, and sedation. Some report a sense of inner clarity, while others feel disoriented or confused.
